How can I find out what version of OS I have on my BlackBerry so I can purchase a correct theme?

To find out your current OS version on your BlackBerry, go to Applications screen > Options > About and you will see your BlackBerry phone model name and a version number on top. It should start with “v” followed by a bunch of numbers and dots. For example, if it says “v5.x.x.xxx” you will need to purchase a theme for OS 5. If it says “v4.6.x.xxx” then you will need to purchase a theme for OS 4.6.

I have purchased a theme but have not received an e-mail with a download link. What is happening?

It takes anywhere from minutes to hours if Mobihand has to do a fraud checking on a purchase. If you don’t receive an e-mail with a download link within a reasonable amount of time, please contact Mobihand customer support. Any sales related issues should be directed to Mobihand as they handle selling themes, sending you OTA (over the air) links and issuing refunds.

I received an OTA link but when I click on it I receive an error. What should I do?

If you received “Error: Dowload URL has been truncated or Full version is not available.” or any other errors when trying to download a theme, please try again in a few hours. It usually fixes itself after a while. Mobihand, the company in charge of selling and disbursing the theme, is aware of this issue and is working on a fix.

If the link still doesn’t work after 24 hours, please contact Mobihand for support.

I purchased an incorrect version of a theme. How can I switch it?

Once you purchased and received an OTA link, go to Mobihand’s website, log in to your account and go to My Apps (click on your user name at the top). You should see a list of applications and themes you have purchased. From there you can switch to different versions.

What is Hidden Today in certain themes?

Hidden Today means you can see a preview of Calendar, Messages, and/or SMS/MMS items on the home screen just by touching (Storm) or scrolling over (non-Storm) the above mentioned icons. This feature adds convenience by allowing you to take a look at events, new mails, messages without ever leaving the home screen. Not all themes have this feature and some themes are offered with or without this feature.

Using A Theme

I just downloaded a theme but don’t see it in the Themes list. What do I do?

There is a couple of causes to this problem

1. Most likely you have downloaded an incorrect version of a theme. Make sure that the theme version and and your phone model are the same. This means both the phone model AND the operating system (OS) version must match. If you have downloaded an incorrect theme, you must go back to Mobihand’s website. From there you can change to a different version. Go to Mobihand’s website, login, and at the top next to your name is a down arrow. Click this and go to My Apps. On this page, you will see a list of applications that you purchased. Click on Swap to Another Version. If you have any questions regarding sales and downloading, contact Mobihand support.

2. If you’re sure that you’ve downloaded a correct theme then your phone is probably acting out! Although this doesn’t happen often it does happen due to application bugs, OS, or whatever that may be. In this case, do a battery pull.

There is something wrong with the theme! It’s slow/missing icons/looks funny/taking up too much memory.

Every theme created by BerryMobi has been tested by multiple betatesters before it’s published. However, there can be instances where you will notice some anomalies. This can happen due to many different reasons such as your phone running too low on memory, having installed too many applications/themes, conflict with another application, etc.

Try the following solutions to fix them:

1. Perform a battery pull first. Most of the time, this will fix minor anomalies and problems you may notice.

2. If that doesn’t fix it, remove unused applications and themes to clear up memory then perform a battery pull.

3. If the above 2 steps didn’t fix the problem, please contact Mobihand for refund.

What is a battery pull and how do I do it?

Battery pull is a procedure to restart a phone allowing to free up memory and ongoing processes. To perform this, take out your phone’s battery while the phone is ON and put it back in after 30 seconds.

This process can fix a lot of little problems and anomalies that you encounter while using your phone so when you are having trouble, always try this first!
